Chefchaouen - The Blue City
After spending a few days in Marrakech, we decided it was time to explore more of Morocco, so we rented a car and took off into the desert. Giray and I had heard amazing things about "The Blue City" aka, Chefchaouen so we made that our first road trip stop. Chefchaouen is about a 7 hour drive from Marrakech (without stopping) and we of course had to stop every once in a while to admire the beautiful desert and mountains we were zooming by, it was beautiful and I don't regret the additional hours it took us to get to our destination, lol.
Renting a car was probably the best thing we could've done while in Morocco. We got to see so much more and at our own pace, it was great. Below are a few photos from our drive and time in the gorgeous blue city, Chefchaouen.
This scenery was breathtakingly beautiful.
I feel like this photo (below) represents a little piece of heaven on earth. All kinds of animals grazing together in a beautiful green pasture with a small river running alongside it ::sigh:: too much much beauty to take in all at once.
After a long drive, we finally arrived!
You guys, seriously, there's nothing like this here. It's truly AMAZING!
After walking all over this blue beauty, we found a spot to have some fresh juice that were both delicious!
Before we knew it, the sun had tucked itself behind the mountains and it was dinner time...YAY! We came across this cute little restaurant (photo below) and quickly plopped ourselves down for dinner, haha.
After a good dinner and good night's rest we awoke the the following morning ready to keep going and headed out for Tangier.
